Robotics Customer Operations Intern

About the role#

Matic is scaling rapidly and looking for a Robotics Customer Operations Intern to manage the critical link between our orders, shipments, and customer experience. Over this 3-month summer internship, you will work alongside our Production, Supply Chain, and Support Operations teams to maintain order flow, optimize shipping reliability, and ensure every customer interaction is intentional. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Menlo Park, California.

What you'll do#

• Order Management: Own day-to-day Shopify operations, including order flows, invoicing, refunds, and customer tagging. Build and maintain dashboards to track order and shipment performance.
• Shipping Operations: Support end-to-end outbound shipping, including carrier requirements, dangerous goods compliance basics, and packaging standards. Resolve shipment issues by identifying root causes and implementing permanent fixes.
• Reverse Logistics: Manage the end-to-end returns and RMA process. Audit and refine communication to ensure a smooth customer experience and partner with the Repairs team to track turnaround times and eliminate bottlenecks.
• Customer Support: Handle customer tickets related to order management and shipping inquiries, ensuring fast and accurate resolutions. Audit and refine communication templates to maintain brand consistency.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Hands-on technical capability, including experience with APIs, writing basic scripts, or building automations.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms.
• Strong written communication skills for both customer-facing messages and internal documentation.
• Startup energy, characterized by a detail-obsessed approach and a willingness to solve problems across different areas.
