About the role#

The 2026-27 Macmillan Publishers Immersive Internship Program is a year-long, paid opportunity designed to provide a comprehensive look at the publishing industry. Interns work within various departments, including Editorial, Marketing, Publicity, Art & Design, Sales, Production, Legal, and Technology. This program is structured to allow participants to move beyond daily tasks, take ownership of larger projects, and contribute meaningfully to their assigned teams.

What you'll do#

• Gain a deep understanding of the publishing industry through direct involvement in team operations.
• Participate in curated industry and development workshops to build professional skills.
• Connect with employees across various departments to build a professional network.
• Take ownership of larger projects and contribute to team goals.

What you'll need#

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• A strong interest in the publishing industry.
• Open to candidates from all backgrounds, including career changers, those returning to the workforce, and those from non-traditional academic paths.

Location & details#

• This is a remote position, though interns located near New York, New York, may work from the office if desired.
• The program runs from September 21 to April 30.
• Compensation is $17 per hour.
• The schedule is part-time, up to 25 hours per week.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
