About the role#
The Student Nurse PCT contributes to high-quality patient care by working collaboratively with the healthcare team. This role involves performing basic nursing care tasks as delegated by the assigned nurse to support the clinical unit.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct patient care with a focus on personal hygiene, comfort, and safety.
- Assist with patient admission, discharge, and mobilization as ordered.
- Collect and record patient data, including vital signs and intake and output measurements.
- Recognize and report changes in patient conditions or reports of pain to the assigned nurse.
- Transport medications and patients in compliance with institutional policies and security procedures.
- Assist with unit supply maintenance and the orientation of new staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited registered nursing program.
- Successful completion of the first year of a clinical nursing program and at least one clinical semester.
- Valid CNA certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification.
