As a Brand Strategy Fellow, you will build brands from the ground up for founders. This is a 12-month, paid fellowship where you will work directly alongside experienced builders on core projects. You will be responsible for defining the brand identity for ventures, including positioning, personality, and the strategic architecture that informs all future creative decisions.
What you'll do#
- Build the strategic foundation for a venture from scratch, including audience analysis, competitive context, and positioning frameworks.
- Create brand narratives, tone-of-voice guidelines, taglines, and core copy.
- Develop and evaluate names based on linguistic, cultural, and legal criteria, including phonetics and domain availability.
- Art-direct designers on visual identity, including logos, typography, color, and imagery.
- Define brand identity and personas grounded in cultural behavior and behavioral psychology.
What you'll need#
- Deep cultural knowledge and the ability to articulate why specific brands resonate within culture.
- Exquisite taste and the ability to articulate design and strategic choices with precision.
- Strategic clarity, with the ability to distill complex founder monologues into clear, concise positioning statements.
- Comfort with ambiguity and working in zero-to-one environments with no existing precedents.
- A contrarian streak and the ability to think independently from first principles.
- Majors in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or Anthropology are relevant, though the role focuses on cultural depth and strategic capability.
