Therapy Intern

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience in a clinical environment for students pursuing careers in healthcare, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, physician assistant studies, or medical school. Interns work directly with experienced therapists to support patient care and gain practical exposure to multiple therapy disciplines.

What you'll do#

• Assist therapists with session preparation, including setting up equipment and creating therapy materials.
• Support patients during treatment sessions, including mobility work, transfers, and guided activities.
• Help with specialized techniques such as serial casting and gait training.
• Maintain therapy spaces to ensure they are clean, organized, and ready for patient use.
• Contribute to behind-the-scenes operations by scoring assessments, tracking outcomes, and creating clinical tools.
• Manage equipment, supplies, and overall clinic flow.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a post-secondary student in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, Kinesiology, Biomedical Sciences, or pre-professional health tracks).
• A High school diploma or GED.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• No prior clinical experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
