About the role#
The Administrative Fellowship at Lexington Medical Center is a one-year program designed to develop management and leadership skills for individuals pursuing a career in healthcare administration. Fellows receive hands-on experience in the operational, organizational, and financial aspects of an independent healthcare system. You will work with an assigned mentor and various preceptors across physician practices, hospital departments, and community medical centers to support departmental efforts and execute a personalized development plan.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and assist with special projects and activities as directed by leadership.
- Represent the fellowship program in meetings and department forums.
- Participate in focus groups and committees to support project management and strategic planning.
- Complete day-to-day tasks and projects in human resource management, financial management, operation management, risk and compliance, patient-centered care, and quality management.
- Partner with the assigned physician network or hospital operations team to establish and achieve goals.
- Attend a scheduled sequence of educational classes provided by staff development and operations teams.
What you'll need#
- A Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Business Management, Health Services Management, Public Health, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Theoretical knowledge of the healthcare delivery system.
- A commitment to maintaining a positive attitude and adhering to service expectations.
