As a Human Resources Intern, you will partner with plant leadership to support core HR initiatives across manufacturing sites. This role involves hands-on involvement in employee engagement and culture initiatives, with the opportunity to rotate across multiple facilities to gain broad, real-world experience.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with plant management to drive employee engagement.
- Assess workforce and leadership development needs and coordinate activities to address technical and soft-skill gaps.
- Support the execution of talent management processes, including recruiting, staffing, performance management, and succession planning.
- Develop and maintain plant and company policies and procedures, such as work rules and attendance guidelines.
- Coach employees on conflict resolution, performance concerns, and workplace issues.
- Provide recommendations to leadership regarding the resolution of employee relations matters.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships through active listening and openness to feedback.
- Demonstrated accountability and the ability to collaborate effectively to drive inclusive solutions.
- Commitment to acting with integrity and following through on commitments.
- A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in enhancing HR processes.
- Ability to respond to employee and business needs in a professional and timely manner.

- Location: Southfield, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. This opportunity is intended exclusively for students currently enrolled in the University of South Carolina Human Resources program.
