The Student Affairs Advisor acts as a primary point of contact for students and stakeholders regarding accommodations, academic and professional integrity, and appeals. This role involves interpreting policies, managing case files, and ensuring adherence to established procedures within the Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP).
What you'll do#
- Act as a primary contact for participants in the accommodation, academic/professional integrity, and appeal processes.
- Provide advice and support regarding academic/professional integrity reviews and accommodation requests.
- Thoroughly review and investigate appeal submissions and incident reports.
- Develop and implement individualized accommodation plans according to established guidelines.
- Draft detailed decisions and responses for students using approved templates.
- Maintain records with strict attention to privacy, confidentiality, and security.
- Prepare scheduled and ad hoc reports as required.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support continuous process improvement.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, or Political Science.
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interpret policies and legislation.
- A high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, and facilitation skills.
- Strong ability to manage confidential information and prioritize work independently.
