Communications & Volunteerism Internship

About the role#

Laradon is seeking an intern for the Fall 2026 term to support both nonprofit communications and volunteer management. This role provides hands-on experience in storytelling and community engagement, focusing on the advocacy and support services provided to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What you'll do#

• Create monthly content for the organizational blog, including conducting interviews, photography, and writing.
• Develop social media content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
• Support the growth of the volunteer program through recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling.
• Assist with day-of logistics for volunteer groups and events.
• Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator and Director of Marketing on the End of Year Appeal.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a program requiring internship credit, with a preference for majors in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Health, or Media Studies.
• Experience creating engaging, impactful content for social media platforms.
• A portfolio or links to writing samples and social media content you have created.
• Comfort working alongside individuals in the intellectual and developmental disability community.
• Ability to adapt to a frequently changing work environment.

Location & details#

• Location: On-site in Denver, Colorado.
• Term: Fall 2026 (August/September through November/December).
• Schedule: Minimum of two days per week (Monday–Thursday) for at least three continuous months.
• Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
