About the role#
LAPORTE is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern to join the team in Montréal. This is a full-time, paid position focused on providing high-value engineering services to the pharmaceutical, agri-food, and industrial biotech sectors. This role is on-site and follows a rolling term schedule.
What you'll do#
- Design lighting, electrical distribution, fire alarm, and communication systems.
- Create electrical diagrams for control and protection, including single-line diagrams, wiring, and cabling.
- Prepare technical plans and specifications.
- Conduct flash studies and coordinate protection systems.
- Manage follow-ups with equipment suppliers.
- Perform commissioning and equipment performance testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering program.
- Previous internship experience in a design-related role, preferably within the food and beverage, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong technical proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to quality.
