Seasonal Processing & Field Operations Intern

About the role#

The Seasonal Processing & Field Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting both plant operations and field activities. This role provides exposure to crop monitoring, pest scouting, harvest coordination, and processing plant support. You will contribute to efficient seasonal workflow and production success by assisting with data collection, documentation, and operational tasks.

What you'll do#

• Conduct field scouting to monitor crop health, growth stages, insect presence, and pest pressure.
• Perform crop and insect sampling, collect accurate field data, and document findings.
• Complete stand counts and assist with plant population assessments.
• Collect and document moisture samples during harvest.
• Track treatment thresholds and support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) efforts.
• Assist with harvest communication, documentation, and maintenance of production records.
• Support daily processing and plant operations.
• Follow all company safety, biosecurity, and operational policies.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and within a processing plant setting.
• Basic computer skills, with a preference for Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Ability to lift heavy objects as required by operational tasks.
