About the role#
Lafayette Federal Credit Union offers an internship program designed to help students strengthen their business skills and gain professional experience. This program provides exposure to daily operations and procedures within a banking environment, requiring a high level of confidentiality and a strong work ethic.
What you'll do#
- Perform clerical duties including taking memos, maintaining files, organizing documents, and handling photocopying and faxing.
- Assist in preparing research materials and information for projects and presentations.
- Manage databases and input information, records, and data.
- Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, and provide basic company information.
- Record notes during meetings and draft reports or documents.
- Research and gather documentation regarding the company's industry position.
- Collect and manage mail, packages, and courier deliveries.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of company events and attend networking functions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university or college.
- At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- A positive credit standing.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting files, opening cabinets, bending, and standing.
Location & details#
- Location: Rockville, Maryland.
- Residency requirement: Applicants must reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia.
- Work modality: On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Compensation: $17.15 per hour.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
