This internship focuses on building a demand intelligence platform that helps optimize hospitality operations in Athens, Georgia. You will be responsible for tracking local events, academic milestones, and cultural trends to help shape pricing, staffing, and guest experience strategies. This role is designed for a systems-oriented thinker who wants to create a lasting, data-driven framework that improves in accuracy with every academic cycle.
What you'll do#
- Maintain a 12-month rolling Athens & UGA Event Demand Calendar.
- Track UGA athletics, academic milestones, Greek life schedules, concerts, festivals, and city events.
- Sort events by expected demand impact (High, Medium, or Low).
- Prepare demand forecasts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Monitor official UGA calendars, athletic schedules, and Greek Life updates to capture emerging signals.
- Document post-event insights to build a historical reference library for future forecasting.
What you'll need#
- Currently majoring in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field at the University of Georgia.
- Deep familiarity with UGA traditions, athletics, Greek life, and Athens culture.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Interest in systems-oriented thinking, forecasting, and strategic planning.
