The User Research Co-op will contribute to the team by supporting research studies and analyzing data to help shape player experiences. This is a 4-month, full-time, paid contract position running from September to December 2026. You will receive mentorship from the user research team and gain insight into the game development process.
What you'll do#
- Assist in data collection through interviews, usability studies, and survey analysis.
- Observe participants and take notes during research sessions.
- Code video and interview content for analysis.
- Assist in setting up and preparing research studies.
- Support participant recruitment efforts.
- Gain insights into player motivations and develop an understanding of game user research.
- Collaborate with the research team and build professional relationships.
- Learn about new qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, or a similar program.
- Knowledge of qualitative user research and analysis methods.
- Competency in quantitative research and data analysis, including descriptive statistics.
- Familiarity with Excel or similar tools for generating quantitative findings.
- Understanding of grounded theory.
- Ability to manage and switch between multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills, including comfort with public speaking and presentation design.
- A passion for games.

- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
- Modality: Fully on-site at the Downtown Vancouver studio.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September to December).
