The Business Development Intern will gain hands-on experience in the client acquisition side of a wealth management practice. Working alongside Financial Advisors, you will learn how to identify prospective clients, build relationships, and support growth initiatives through proactive outreach and marketing efforts.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience in client acquisition for wealth management.
- Learn effective business development strategies, including cold calling, networking, and email outreach.
- Conduct research to identify qualified prospective clients, centers of influence, and strategic referral partners.
- Assist Financial Advisors with maintaining and expanding prospect pipelines using CRM systems.
- Make outbound calls to schedule introductory meetings and qualify prospective clients.
- Assist with seminar, webinar, and marketing event preparation.
- Gain exposure to financial planning and investment advisory services to understand client needs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS/BA degree, with a preference for rising juniors or seniors.
- Strong interest in sales, business development, financial services, or wealth management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A professional demeanor with high attention to detail.
- Comfort with making outbound prospecting calls and speaking with new people.
