James Moore & Co. is seeking an IT Support Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position based in Gainesville, Florida. The role is designed for students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity who are looking to gain hands-on experience in an accounting and business consulting environment.
What you'll do#
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for tier 1 support requests.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior support staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation and closure for all assigned support tickets.
- Manage equipment inventory, including monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and receiving deliveries.
- Maintain equipment in meeting rooms, conference rooms, and hotel desks, including AV configuration.
- Process invoices and resolve vendor discrepancies.
- Prepare and ship equipment to employees and office locations.
- Research current IT trends and technologies to support internal guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete organizational projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fundamental knowledge of systems including Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Azure, PowerShell, Remote Desktop Connection, and VPN.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to peers.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain professional confidentiality.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Fundamentals, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+.

- Location: Gainesville, Florida (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2026 (May 15, 2026 – July 24, 2026).
- Commitment: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
- Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
