The Fall 2026 PR and Social Media Internship at J/PR provides an integrated training experience within a global communications firm. Interns are immersed in the public relations and social media marketing industry through direct interaction with staff, clients, and media. This program focuses on developing foundational skills in PR strategy, research, influencer relations, and creative content development.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on industry trends, articles, and social media activity relevant to clients.
- Assist in the creation of press materials, including fact sheets, media lists, press releases, newsletters, and bios.
- Support brainstorming and planning sessions for story angles and partnerships.
- Create Instagram story content for assigned clients using Canva.
- Learn and apply the Barcelona Principles scoring system under team supervision.
- Provide administrative support for media and influencer relations.
What you'll need#
- Current junior or senior standing at a college or university with a concentration in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel within a Mac OS environment.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Must be enrolled in a course to receive academic credit for the internship.
- Ability to commute to the office location for the duration of the internship.
Location & details#
- Locations: San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY; Denver, CO; or Nashville, TN.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 13 through mid-December 2026).
- Modality: On-site (16 hours per week, with in-office attendance required Monday through Thursday).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship ($575 stipend) that also provides academic credit.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
