About the role#
As a Summer Intern at Irving Materials, Inc., you will be fully immersed in a specific business unit. You will gain hands-on experience through job shadowing, working under direct supervision, and completing independent tasks. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive look at the wholesale building materials industry, including opportunities to participate in company field trips to learn about broader business operations.
What you'll do#
- Actively participate in all phases of the internship, including job shadowing and supervised work.
- Complete a summer project identifying at least one area for business improvement, which you will present to a panel of company executives and leaders.
- Participate in all scheduled field trip opportunities to broaden your understanding of the company.
- Report to work on time daily at your assigned location.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary education program at an accredited institution.
- Completion of your sophomore year of college.
- Completion of at least one year of coursework specific to your declared major in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
- Reliable personal transportation to the assigned work location.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to commit to a full-time schedule throughout the summer.
- Experience using the Google Suite of applications is considered a plus.
