The Housing Intern will participate in a variety of housing-related functions, including administrative, maintenance, construction, renovation, and client service roles. This position offers exposure to key operational areas such as financial management, tenant relations, apprenticeship programs, and lands management. Interns will also provide mentorship and support to peers to foster skill development and career readiness.
What you'll do#
- Engage in housing administration and management tasks.
- Support housing construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.
- Assist with financial management and lands management processes.
- Manage tenant relations and support the trades apprenticeship program.
- Provide mentorship and support to other interns.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Architecture.
- Strong attention to detail, logical reasoning, and the ability to work independently.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search are required.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience in housing, construction, or program coordination.
- Experience working with Indigenous or northern communities is considered an asset.
- Priority consideration is given to beneficiaries of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA).
Location & details#
- Location: Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Canada.
- Term: Full-time, June 2026 to March 31, 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Relocation support is available for selected candidates.
