Production Planner Intern

About the role#

IEM is seeking a Production Planner Intern for a 6-week program based in Jacksonville, Florida. This internship provides direct exposure to the manufacturing planning process, focusing on data analysis and the reconciliation of production schedules. Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the intern will work in a hands-on capacity to support the planning team with data-driven insights.

What you'll do#

• Support the development and maintenance of production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
• Review customer orders and demand signals to validate requirements against lead times.
• Use INFOR to analyze production plans and ensure system orders align with actual production requirements.
• Perform data analysis in Microsoft Excel to track, compare, and reconcile production data.
• Assist with capacity and material availability analysis to identify planning constraints.
• Participate in cross-functional planning meetings with the Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kanban systems, visual management, and data accuracy projects.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in data analysis or reporting considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
• Exposure to ERP or MRP systems is preferred but not required.
