The Engineering Intern will work on projects related to product development, design, and production system improvements. This position involves a mix of documentation, product evaluation, and process analysis under the guidance of the engineering department manager.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, laboratory quality manuals, engineering action requests, testing and training records, and calibration reports.
- Investigate product improvements through testing, evaluation reports, and updates to bills of material or engineering change notices.
- Evaluate production processes by conducting time efficiency studies, cost analyses, and determining specifications for new equipment.
- Collaborate with team members, vendors, and suppliers to track project issues and implement improvements.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and utilize company resources to achieve task objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of an associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial and Manufacturing technology, or a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel. Experience with CREO, AutoCAD, or Ignite is a plus.
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as Solid Works, Solid Edge, or CREO (CREO experience is preferred).
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and handle flexible hours when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding safety, security, and document accuracy.
- Ability to safely maneuver in production areas, as 50-60% of the work is performed on the production floor.
