Associate Project Intern

About the role#

The Associate Project Intern supports the construction project team throughout the design and construction phases. This role focuses on developing technical and interpersonal skills while maintaining project documentation and correspondence to ensure successful project management.

What you'll do#

• Assist project managers in identifying, pursuing, and negotiating project sales.
• Participate in client meetings and coordinate with project and design teams to prepare working drawings.
• Prepare components of conceptual and detailed estimates for supervisor review.
• Support the management of design aspects, ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Review construction and shop drawings for buildability and potential errors.
• Assist with project scheduling, cost projections, and the preparation of owner change orders.
• Draft subcontract bid scopes and contract scopes.
• Collaborate with governmental agencies to resolve project issues.
• Provide field support to project managers and superintendents, including QA/QC, safety, and documentation tasks.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field; preference is given to Engineering degrees.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
• Construction jobsite and design-build experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds and the ability to work in environments requiring protective equipment.

• Schedule: Full-time.
• Compensation: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour.
