The Recovery Coach Intern supports the Community Based Recovery Support (CBRS) program. This role provides peer-based assistance to individuals transitioning back into the community after substance use or mental health treatment. This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Provide emotional, social, and recovery-focused peer support to members.
- Assist members in identifying recovery goals, developing wellness plans, and building life skills.
- Help members strengthen recovery-supportive relationships with family, peers, and community networks.
- Collaborate with clinicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and community referrals.
- Document patient engagements in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Assist with practical needs, including benefit applications, appointment scheduling, and housing stability efforts.
- Serve as a recovery liaison and advocate, supporting members in navigating medical, behavioral health, and social service systems.
- Participate in required weekly individual and group supervision.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Lived experience with substance use and recovery.
- Completion of Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) and Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches (ECRC) trainings.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn program-specific systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, team-based program.
- Valid driver’s license and ownership of a car.
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
- Understanding of professional boundaries, ethics, and HIPAA regulations.

- Location: Brockton, Massachusetts.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
