Solar Operations Internship

About the role#

The Solar Operations Internship at hep solar North America offers hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry. This role supports the Operations & Maintenance team with coordination, reporting, and process improvement for distributed generation solar projects. You will work closely with the Director of Operations and cross-functional teams to gain exposure to business management practices, including operational planning, performance tracking, and resource management.

What you'll do#

• Assist with tracking and organizing solar site operational activities and maintenance schedules.
• Support work order management, documentation control, and service record tracking.
• Coordinate logistics related to field activities, subcontractors, and site support needs.
• Participate in operational planning meetings, project status reviews, and scheduling discussions.
• Support cross-functional communication between field operations and the Remote Operations Center.
• Assist with compiling operational performance data, KPI metrics, and generating reports on equipment uptime and maintenance response times.
• Identify workflow improvements and assist in updating standard operating procedures and tracking tools.
• Support administrative tasks including invoice tracking, budget monitoring, and vendor documentation.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Experience with spreadsheets, dashboards, reporting tools, or business systems.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a team environment.
• Genuine interest in renewable energy, operations management, and business processes.
• Comfort working in both office and field environments.

• Location: Huntersville, North Carolina.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (approximately 50% field-based and 50% administrative).
• Status: Full-time, paid internship.
• Term: Rolling.
