Engineering intern

About the role#

HBK is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our team in Chatsworth, California. This is a full-time, paid, rolling internship opportunity designed for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Please note that this position requires the use of information subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and all applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

What you'll do#

• Create and revise job travelers, visual manufacturing instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
• Revise engineering drawings, performance specification sheets, data sheets, and other technical documentation.
• Maintain and update Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and production traveler systems.
• Support engineering tasks by evaluating manufacturing yields and assisting with lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Perform small engineering experiments and document findings under the guidance of staff engineers.
• Create and revise 3D CAD models.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (junior year or above preferred).
• Advanced computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Ability to interface effectively with personnel across various levels of skill and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Chatsworth, CA.
