About the role#
Hatch is establishing a new Government Relations practice and is seeking a student to join the founding team. This role provides an opportunity to support the development of advocacy strategies, monitor legislative trends, and contribute to the growth of a global government relations function. You will work under the direction of the Director of Government Relations to support offices globally while based in Mississauga.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and analyze legislative, policy, and regulatory changes.
- Prepare briefing notes, reports, and presentations for leadership.
- Coordinate and support meetings with government officials and industry associations.
- Manage data by consolidating and tracking information from diverse sources into a centralized database.
- Assist with the planning and execution of events, including logistics and follow-up activities.
- Support the development of advocacy strategies and maintain compliance with lobbying and disclosure requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, Law, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of macroeconomic concepts.
- Working knowledge of Excel and data management tools, with an interest in CRM systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous relevant coursework, academic projects, or internship experience is considered an asset.
