The HR Co-Op Student provides administrative and technical support to the Human Resources department. This role assists in the delivery of various HR programs and procedures while maintaining employee confidentiality and protecting company assets. The position is on-site in Houston, Texas, and requires a commitment of 20-29 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Distribute HR correspondence, mail, and welcome materials, and assist with new hire desk setups.
- Organize special events, including holiday parties and the Wall of Fame.
- Audit and purchase company logo merchandise and maintain supplies for recruitment packets and orientation folders.
- Assist with administrative projects, such as creating and updating forms, typing correspondence, and building spreadsheets.
- Upload employee documentation into Workday and maintain photo files.
- Support the staffing team by scheduling interviews and participating in recruitment activities like career fairs.
- Prepare materials for trainings, meetings, and orientations.
- Log and submit HR invoices to the Accounts Payable department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Freshman or Sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or Psychology.
- A minimum GPA of 3.25.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional administrative and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple, diverse tasks with varying priorities independently.
