Service Assistant

About the role#

The Service Assistant position at The Smokehouse Coop is a full-time, on-site role responsible for supporting restaurant operations and ensuring a high-quality experience for guests. This role involves maintaining the dining environment, assisting servers, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

What you'll do#

• Provide excellent service to restaurant customers and assist servers with delivering orders.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables to maintain a neat, organized, and safe environment.
• Manage the flow of soiled dishes to the kitchen and ensure clean supplies are available in the dining room.
• Complete all prep, running, and post-shift side-work requirements.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and intervene according to established guidelines.
• Handle money in accordance with company procedures.

What you'll need#

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, quickly and correctly.
• A willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to changing needs.
• A high school diploma or GED and six months of prior food service experience are preferred.
• Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, reaching, and carrying food service trays.
