The Police Intern will gain exposure to the operations of the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport District Police Department. This 10-week, paid, non-exempt internship provides a civilian-level view of airport policing, including secured areas, the Airport Operations Center, and police dispatching. Interns do not hold police powers or authority and will operate under specific safety and security limitations.
What you'll do#
- Update the Victim Advocate manual by verifying local resources.
- Assist with department records management, including purging files and closing case files.
- File monthly reports and perform data entry tasks.
- Support outreach initiatives and gain exposure to airport law enforcement operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Sciences, or a related law enforcement field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database products.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to learn police records management systems.
- Ability to pass a background investigation, drug screening, and physical examination.
