The Accounting Co-op supports the finance department by managing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. This role involves performing general accounting duties, assisting with month-end close activities, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping.
What you'll do#
- Manage vendor invoices in the accounting system, including coding and maintaining source documents.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and coordinate with internal department heads for invoice approvals.
- Generate and issue sales invoices to customers.
- Perform daily cash management tasks, such as recording bank deposits, updating cash receipt logs, and posting cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
- Follow up on overdue payments to support the accounts receivable process.
- Reconcile company credit cards on a monthly basis.
- Assist the Finance and Accounting team with the month-end close process and maintain documentation for audit purposes.
What you'll need#
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Graduate degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Business Administration.
- Previous work experience in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
- Ability to generate and issue invoices in a timely manner.
- Experience with month-end close activities.
