This paid internship offers the opportunity to gain experience in the mining industry by working alongside engineers to analyze plant processes, troubleshoot hardware, and implement solutions. Interns will participate in business projects and professional development workshops while working in both office and manufacturing environments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with PLC programming maintenance and utilize online training resources.
- Support HMI programming tasks.
- Execute minor projects independently with guidance from supervision.
- Investigate existing equipment to prepare for modifications.
- Document and communicate project progress and improvement items.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Travel up to 20% of the time, if required.
What you'll need#
- Must be a full-time student at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of 90 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2024 semester.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Preferred experience includes AutoCAD, programming, and scripting.

- Location: Franklin, Kentucky.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May – August).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Working conditions include occasional exposure to noise levels over 85 dB, moisture, moving machinery, and temperature fluctuations between 35ºF and 100ºF.
