Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking college students for a full-time, paid Summer 2026 internship in Georgetown, Delaware. This role is based within the Construction Observation and Testing department, where interns will receive training and work alongside experienced engineering field staff. Most of the work takes place outdoors, requiring the ability to work in various weather conditions.
What you'll do#
- Perform tests on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials in the field or laboratory, including the use of nuclear density testing gauges.
- Observe and document construction activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Prepare daily field reports and test summaries.
- Interact with contractors, clients, and GTA personnel to evaluate site conditions.
- Participate in work progress meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for civil engineering, geology, environmental engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Reliable personal transportation, a valid driver's license, and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds regularly and occasionally 80 pounds or more.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as reaching, climbing, balancing, crouching, stooping, crawling, and kneeling.
- Steel-toe or composite-toe boots.
