    About the role#

    This internship with GE Vernova focuses on Grid Automation & Software, providing hands-on experience with the technologies, products, and services that power modern energy infrastructure. You will work at the intersection of power systems and intelligent software, contributing to projects that shape the future of grid technology.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate on enhancing existing Grid Automation & Software solutions and developing new, commercially viable features.
    • Solve real-world industry and customer challenges using a mix of electrical engineering principles, physics, and AI/ML techniques.
    • Contribute to pilot projects and initiatives that shape the future of grid technology.
    • Gain exposure to enterprise applications that power modern energy infrastructure.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM fields.
    • A minimum cumulative or in-major GPA of 3.0/4.0.
    • Ability to commit to working full time (40 hours per week) for the 6-month summer internship term.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
    • Preferred: Thesis work in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems, protection, and controls.
    • Familiarity with grid automation technologies, IEC standards, and foundational knowledge of power system concepts like fault detection and grid stability is a plus.
