This internship with GE Vernova focuses on Grid Automation & Software, providing hands-on experience with the technologies, products, and services that power modern energy infrastructure. What you'll do#
- Collaborate on enhancing existing Grid Automation & Software solutions and developing new, commercially viable features.
- Solve real-world industry and customer challenges using a mix of electrical engineering principles, physics, and AI/ML techniques.
- Contribute to pilot projects and initiatives that shape the future of grid technology.
- Gain exposure to enterprise applications that power modern energy infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM fields.
- A minimum cumulative or in-major GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Ability to commit to working full time (40 hours per week) for the 6-month summer internship term.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Preferred: Thesis work in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems, protection, and controls.
- Familiarity with grid automation technologies, IEC standards, and foundational knowledge of power system concepts like fault detection and grid stability is a plus.
