    About the role#

    As an Intern/Co-op in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, you will contribute to the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for medical devices and components. This role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness through hands-on experience in a high-tech production environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes.
    • Support the implementation of new equipment, tooling, and automation solutions on the production floor.
    • Conduct process capability studies, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement in manufacturing yields and quality.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for manufacturing issues.
    • Contribute to the creation and revision of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process specifications.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, and Production, to support product launches and continuous improvement.
    • Perform time studies and lean manufacturing analyses to identify and eliminate waste.
    • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new manufacturing technologies and materials.
    • Support the validation of manufacturing processes and equipment.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Biomedical Engineering.
    • A strong academic record.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, welding, or additive manufacturing.
    • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Creo, is preferred.
    • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools, such as Kaizen, 5S, or Value Stream Mapping, is a plus.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
