About the role#
This is a year-long, full-time, paid Interaction Design internship based at the GE Appliances design studio in Louisville, Kentucky. You will gain experience in the product design process within a manufacturing environment, working across various product lines to develop brand-centric products.
What you'll do#
- Communicate design concepts through presentations, specifications, and prototypes.
- Apply sustainable and universal design principles to create forward-thinking products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, usability, marketing, and suppliers.
- Relocate to Louisville, KY for the duration of the one-year internship.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program for Industrial Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to communicate ideas effectively using verbal, written, and visualization tools.
- Experience with story-boarding, mapping, and wireframing using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Suite.
- Experience with time-based and interactive media design using prototyping tools.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and mobile application design.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Please note that sponsorship is not provided for this position.
