Electrical Engineer Intern

About the role#

Fulfil is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team. You will develop printed circuit boards (PCBs), power distribution and control cabinets, safety systems, and associated cable interconnects. This role involves participating in architectural design and the development of best practice guidelines while working alongside teams spanning mechanical design, software, computer vision, systems integration, and operations.

What you'll do#

• Own challenging electrical design projects in industrial automation and robotics.
• Design and build industrial control cabinets, cables, and harnesses.
• Select electrical components, including commercial cables, power supplies, PLCs, and sensors.
• Document design concepts, trade studies, test procedures, and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechatronics, systems, software, firmware, and operations, to design robust electrical systems.
• Test new designs on the bench and in-system to ensure function and performance.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Hands-on aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot system issues across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience with lab equipment and tools, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and soldering equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A passion for electrical engineering and creating effective designs.
• Preferred: Experience designing robotic equipment or motor control, familiarity with Altium Designer, and knowledge of UL, ISO, and IEC standards.
