About the role#
Friends of the Earth is seeking a Food Policy Intern to support the Climate-Friendly Food campaign. This role involves working with the Food and Agriculture team to advance policies that promote sustainable, healthy, and just food systems. The intern will assist in research, stakeholder outreach, and campaign operations, gaining experience in advocacy, policy analysis, and communications.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and summarize findings to support campaign priorities.
- Assist with policy analysis and the development of advocacy materials.
- Support outreach efforts to coalition partners, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Draft and update outreach materials for digital and print platforms.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, webinars, briefings, and advocacy events.
- Provide administrative support to keep campaigns organized and on schedule.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in environmental studies, public policy, political science, communications, public health, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct research and synthesize information effectively.
- Interest in environmental advocacy, food systems, and climate policy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (5-7 month duration, starting in September).
- Modality: Remote.
- Schedule: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid at $19.50 per hour.
