About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Regulatory, Research & Compliance team. You will support the Financial Planning, Analysis & Systems department by assisting with state and federal regulatory compliance, including involuntary assessments and state filings. This role involves collaborating across teams to maintain accurate and transparent business practices while gaining exposure to various accounting functions such as financial reporting, investments, and reinsurance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Support research initiatives to monitor and report on relevant regulatory changes.
- Prepare, compile, and sort documents and data that substantiate business transactions.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments remain current.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts with various registers.
- Verify, code, and post details of business transactions and audit invoices against purchase orders.
- Assist in the development of month-end and annual accounting cycles.
- Review and interpret computer reports to identify and correct discrepancies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your sophomore, junior, or senior year.
- A major in Accounting is preferred.
- Ability to organize data, manage multiple tasks, and make decisions independently.
- Effective communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
