FPWA is seeking a Campaigns Intern for Summer 2026 to support the True Cost of Economic Security campaign. This role offers hands-on experience in policy campaigns, legislative research, and campaign coordination. Interns work closely with the Membership, Programs, and Campaigns team, with the potential to continue the position through the fall semester.
What you'll do#
- Track and maintain campaign databases, project trackers, and outreach logs to ensure data accuracy.
- Draft and edit campaign materials, including external presentations and fact sheets.
- Support the planning, logistics, and execution of panels, forums, and legislative briefings.
- Conduct outreach to coalition members and document participation during calls.
- Perform targeted research, such as identifying legislative prospects and compiling lists of new coalition partners.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including taking meeting minutes, tracking action items, and managing campaign documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a graduate or undergraduate program in public policy, political science, social work, law, economics, or a related field.
- An introductory understanding of the policy and advocacy landscape regarding economic security issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong interest in public policy, economic and social justice, and civil rights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: Summer 2026, with potential to extend into the fall.
- Compensation: $20 to $25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 21 hours per week (3 days).
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with in-office days required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
