Fall 2026 Big Ten Network Internship Program - Chicago

About the role#

The Big Ten Network Internship Program provides students with practical experience in a professional media environment. This program offers exposure to real-world projects across various departments including Marketing, Studio Production, and Media Management. Interns will participate in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and master classes designed to enhance industry knowledge.

What you'll do#

Depending on your assigned area, responsibilities may include:

• Studio Production: Assist in the preparation and production of the B1G Today studio show, log games, find footage, and conduct research for historical stories.
• Media Management: Support the department by transferring the library to cloud storage, performing metadata tagging, and assisting with day-to-day workflows and requests from stakeholders.
• Marketing: Gain hands-on experience in brand and sports marketing, social media promotion, and event planning for initiatives such as the BTN Big 10K and football media days.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a class standing of sophomore or above.
• A strong academic record.
• A demonstrated interest in the sports media industry and knowledge of Big Ten Network programming.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work on-site in Chicago, Illinois.
• Access to your own housing and transportation.
• Majors preferred include Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, Business Administration, or Journalism.

• Location: Chicago, Illinois.
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026 – November 20, 2026).
• Schedule: 16–24 hours per week.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship at $20.00 per hour.
