About the role#
This internship offers the opportunity to work with the Private Wealth team at a publicly traded commercial bank. You will collaborate with portfolio managers, wealth advisors, and trust advisors on a range of investment tasks and special projects.
What you'll do#
- Compile and analyze market data related to macroeconomics, fundamentals, and valuation to support research efforts.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts by contributing insights derived from data analysis.
- Assist the team in constructing model portfolios and optimizing asset allocation.
- Maintain the asset database within the trust accounting platform.
- Support trading operations by reviewing trade tickets and booking bonds.
- Provide project-related analysis and review for the investment team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related field.
- Strong technology proficiency, with advanced skills in Excel preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- A professional attitude characterized by integrity and reliability.
- Intellectual curiosity regarding financial markets and global economic events.
- Previous investment internship experience or a demonstrated interest in investments, asset allocation, trading, and modeling.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, on-site position based in Madison, Wisconsin.
- The internship runs from Fall 2026 through the end of the Spring 2027 semester.
- A minimum of 15 hours per week is required, with flexibility between 8am and 5pm.
- You must be able to work from the Madison office at least 2 days per week.
