About the role#
Firma Contracting Inc. is seeking a Construction Coordinator/Summer Student to provide project support for civil and underground construction in downtown Edmonton. This full-time, paid position offers hands-on experience in concrete construction and project delivery, with mentorship from experienced professionals based out of a site trailer.
What you'll do#
- Assist with quantity tracking, progress reporting, and daily project documentation.
- Update progress drawings for client review.
- Manage material orders, survey requests, and quality checks.
- Track project deficiencies and assist with closeout documentation.
- Support site safety and quality initiatives.
- Summarize job costs and maintain project filing systems.
- Coordinate tasks with superintendents, foremen, project managers, and subcontractors.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a program in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Bluebeam.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous construction or concrete construction experience is considered an asset.
