Construction Coordinator/Summer Student

About the role#

Firma Contracting Inc. is seeking a Construction Coordinator/Summer Student to provide project support for civil and underground construction in downtown Edmonton. This full-time, paid position offers hands-on experience in concrete construction and project delivery, with mentorship from experienced professionals based out of a site trailer.

What you'll do#

• Assist with quantity tracking, progress reporting, and daily project documentation.
• Update progress drawings for client review.
• Manage material orders, survey requests, and quality checks.
• Track project deficiencies and assist with closeout documentation.
• Support site safety and quality initiatives.
• Summarize job costs and maintain project filing systems.
• Coordinate tasks with superintendents, foremen, project managers, and subcontractors.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a program in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• A valid Class 5 driver's license.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous construction or concrete construction experience is considered an asset.

• Compensation: $28 per hour.
