Nurse Intern (RN or LPN): PRN

About the role#

Firelands Health is seeking a Nurse Intern for a PRN position in Med-Surg. This role is designed for nursing students in their final semester or graduates awaiting boards. Interns assist in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a registered nurse while gaining clinical experience.

What you'll do#

• Provide patient care according to nursing standards, protocols, and evidence-based practices.
• Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Perform data collection and document observations and interventions.
• Administer routine treatments and manage equipment charges.
• Communicate effectively with health team members, patients, and visitors.
• Maintain adaptability as a unit team member and demonstrate service excellence.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in an approved RN program (A.D., diploma, or BSN) with proof of good standing.
• Must be in the final semester of the nursing program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Completion of the nurse intern competency checklist.
• Commitment to pursuing an RN position at Firelands Health.

Location & details#

• Location: Sandusky, Ohio.
• Commitment: 12-24 hours per week, including a minimum of 12 hours of weekend shifts per month.
• Term: Rolling.
