About the role#
The Communications Intern is an entry-level position supporting the Communications Team. This is a 4-month contract with the possibility of extension. The role is paid, full-time, and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Work with the communications team to track down details for internal or external stories, including interviewing contributors or conducting research.
- Support the development of the weekly Traction Roundup newsletter by compiling submissions, editing copy, laying out the content, and finding photos or videos.
- Maintain the company intranet by adding, deleting, or updating content and pages.
- Assist in organizing meetings, events, and learning sessions that align with communication goals.
- Prepare reports for leadership regarding the impact of communication programs and identify new opportunities.
- Support the development of presentation materials and provide accurate, timely responses to project requests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a communications, journalism, or broadcast program at a post-secondary institution.
- Strong command of the English language with high-quality writing and editing skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Capability to organize tasks, manage deadlines, and multitask effectively.
- Initiative to work independently and build collaborative relationships across teams.

- Locations: Calgary, AB; Edmonton, AB; Surrey, BC.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21.99 to $25.00 per hour, depending on the current term-year of the candidate.
