Intern- Retail- Lowell

About the role#

The Retail Intern position at Eastern Bank provides hands-on experience in banking operations and customer service. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Lowell, Massachusetts, with a rolling term. You will work on-site and must be able to stand for up to five hours at a time.

What you'll do#

• Process customer account deposits, including cash verification and endorsement checks.
• Cash checks for both customers and non-customers.
• Process foreign currency transactions and sales of monetary instruments.
• Redeem savings bonds and handle loan payments or credit card cash advances.
• File government-mandated reports for large cash transactions and monetary instrument sales.
• Assist customers with access to the safe deposit area.
• Engage in the sales process by identifying customer financial needs and referring leads to platform staff.

What you'll need#

• Students entering their sophomore or junior year, or high school graduates/equivalent.
• Preferred majors include Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
• An outgoing personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
• Self-starter mindset and technical literacy.
