The Microsystems Integration Co-Op position supports the research and development of microsystems and advanced materials. Interns contribute to projects spanning hardware and software design, electro-optical design, optical and thermal modeling, bioengineering, materials testing, and electrical system design. You will work alongside engineers and technicians to build and test systems, components, and hardware while ensuring quality procedures are upheld.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for complex technical problems.
- Implement, test, and perform analysis, providing necessary documentation support throughout the process.
- Generate and present test reports, including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions based on collected data.
- Complete assignments designed to build practical knowledge of engineering processes, equipment, facilities, and systems.
- Utilize applications such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, SolidWorks, COMSOL, ANSYS, Mentor Graphics, Python, and GitLab.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program in Electrical, Computer, Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Ability to work full-time for a 6-month period.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
