The People & Culture Intern will provide support for daily human resources operations at the InterContinental Boston. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Massachusetts. The role involves frequent interaction with hotel staff and requires the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
What you'll do#
- Assist in establishing project timetables, action steps, and status updates to ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations by gathering and summarizing data.
- Coordinate telephone calls, manage incoming mail, and maintain organized filing systems.
- Assist in maintaining and updating colleague records, including personnel forms, leave of absence documentation, and OSHA logs.
- Help prepare for new colleague orientations, training sessions, and internal staff events.
- Review new hire paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and assist in planning for office supply and equipment needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a degree program, with a preference for students studying Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or Civil Engineering.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain professional confidentiality.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic mathematics.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs, including bending and kneeling.
- Flexibility to work weekend and holiday shifts as needed.
- Prior experience in a similar function is considered a plus.
- Proficiency in languages other than English is highly desired, particularly Cantonese, Mandarin, or Spanish.
