The Project Coordination & Cost Co-op Student will support the Project Management team with the administration, coordination, and cost tracking of construction projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to project controls and commercial administration by assisting with documentation, submittals, RFIs, and change support while maintaining accurate project records.
What you'll do#
- Review and submit documents to the General Contractor and ensure all DILFO sub-trades have the necessary information.
- Maintain communication with general contractors, sub-trades, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Assist Project Managers with scheduling start-up and training activities, job costing support, and general project administration.
- Support the tracking of RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, and change events.
- Manage and update project management software to ensure documentation remains current and compliant.
- Assist with document control activities, including maintaining current drawing sets, managing revisions, and distributing updated documentation to project stakeholders.
- Compile and organize labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor documentation for project cost tracking.
- Prepare close-out documentation, including operating and maintenance manuals, as-builts, test reports, warranties, and commissioning documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program related to the construction field, such as Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, construction management, or construction science.
- Prior experience working in a team environment.
- Previous experience working with a construction company is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation streams simultaneously.
