About the role#
The Detroit Pistons are seeking a Public Relations Game Night Intern for the 2026-27 NBA season. This role provides hands-on experience supporting the Communications team during home games, including playoffs. You will work behind the scenes to help execute NBA game-night communications and support media operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with media operations before, during, and after home games.
- Prepare and maintain the media workroom and press workspaces.
- Support in-game public relations initiatives and postgame media responsibilities.
- Distribute and manage media credentials.
- Provide media members with real-time statistics, game notes, and other supporting information.
- Transcribe coach and player interviews following games and media availability.
- Assist the Communications team with additional game-night responsibilities as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (Junior or Senior standing preferred) or a recent graduate within the past six months.
- Pursuing a career in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Sports Media, or a related field (including Media Studies, Business Administration, Public Health, or Psychology).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the NBA schedule.
- Dependability and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable transportation to and from the arena and the ability to secure personal housing for the duration of the internship.

- Term: Fall 2026 through the conclusion of the 2026-27 NBA season.
