About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Summer 2026 Legal Intern position based in New York City. You will work within the Real Estate practice group, gaining practical experience by collaborating with lawyers and paraprofessionals on client matters.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation and proofing of transactional documents, including creating signature pages and managing document formatting.
- Facilitate the coordination of entity and property due diligence.
- Prepare synopses of parties and funding descriptions for real estate transactions.
- Manage post-closing obligations, including preparing closing indexes and binders, and following up on recorded documents and title policies.
- Establish and maintain electronic client files using the firm's document management system.
- Review and analyze legal agreements and contracts, including preparing abstracts.
- Perform factual research and assist in the preparation of legal analysis.
- Monitor and report on key industry developments.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Political Science, or Economics.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, decision-making, writing, and research skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PDF creation tools.
- A proactive work ethic with the ability to anticipate assignment needs.
- Ability to work effectively in a professional team environment.
- Availability to work overtime when necessary to support business needs.
